Simple name searches
Looking up a constituent by name is something you probably do all the time. You can fire off a constituent name search from any page in LGL, using the search box in the upper right hand corner:
That is the same as running the search from your main Constituents tab:
Both of these run a constituent Names search, which queries the following fields:
- First name
- Last name
- Salutation
- Maiden name
- Nicknames
- Spouse name
- Organization/Employer name
- Addressee
- Alt addressee
- Annual report name
Name searching is fairly loose, in that each term you type in to the names search will be treated like a wildcard term. For instance:
- Bick will find constituents with the last name Bicknell
- Nic Bick will find constituents named Nick Bickwell or Nicholas Bicknell
We recommend using partial names, and to include any name variations not covered in the First name vs. Salutation in the "Nicknames" field.
Lookups by email address and LGL ID
In addition to those name fields, you can search for constituents by their LGL ID or email address and the system will do its best to do the lookup that way.
